Early Dental Care
Early dental experiences are the building blocks for a lifetime of good oral health. Our dentists highly recommend that you make the first dental appointment for your child at around 2 years of age to develop positive associations with our dental team.
At Gleam Dentistry we take care of all aspects of children’s dental care, with a strong focus on preventative dentistry and educating kids and their parents on how to take the best care of their teeth every day.
Preventative treatment includes-
- Fissure Sealants- A white resin is filled into the groves of the surface of the teeth to help prevent food and plaque from building up.
- Fluoride treatment- Fluoride is applied to your children’s teeth help strengthen tooth enamel.
- Dietary advice- Diet is very import to the health of your children’s teeth and important to limit the amount of sugary foods and drinks.
- Regular Check-ups- We like to see children every 6 months allow the dentist to keep a watchful eye on oral hygiene and structural changes.
CBDS – The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is a dental assistance program for eligible children aged 2 to 17 years. It provides cover of up to $1000 over a two-year period for basic dental services, including examinations, X‐rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals and extractions.
Benefits are not available for orthodontic or cosmetic dental work. You cannot claim a benefit under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule and from a private health insurer for the same dental service.
